Major: Integrative Public Relations
Minor(s): Leadership and Political Science
The Leadership Institute and the Leader Advancement Scholarship (LAS) program are what first drew me to Central. After hearing about the leadership opportunities at CMU, I decided to tour the campus. I instantly fell in love with it and felt right at home after one tour. Once I was officially in LAS, it was a no-brainer and I knew Central was the perfect fit for me.
Deciding on what I wanted to be was something I really struggled with for the longest time. Growing up, I always wanted to be something different. I have wanted to be a doctor, an interior designer, a marine biologist and everything in between. I never wanted to be the same thing for an extended period of time. Then, junior year of high school, I sat down and thought about what I was really good at and what I enjoyed doing. That’s how I decided on majoring in integrative public relations. The Leadership minor came with deciding to be a leader advancement scholar and the political science minor came last. During the 2016 presidential elections, I got extremely upset with some of the things that were being done. In my opinion, there was a lot of wrongdoings and I didn’t support it. I was so upset that my mom suggested to me that maybe I would want to be more than just a vote in future elections. That’s when I decided to add the political science minor.
I’m not 100% sure what I’m going to do with my degree or what’s in store but am I really suppose to? I’m young and have so much still to learn and grow. The adventure awaits…
